… i learned of michael jackson’s death over the radio via rx931.1’s the morning rush with chico and delamar. it was a very early and i was really surprised (who isn’t?).
first chico and delamar were saying they need to confirm the news first before they make an announcement about it, then during the news at 17 — they said it. the king of pop is dead…
the news was all over — twitter, facebook, sms and yes even in out breakfast meeting at 7:30am… it was mentioned.
here’s a classic little michael for you all to remember what a sensation he was back then.
1. they are my morning companions on the way to the office via airwaves and amidst the manila trafik.
2. they always find something to laugh or be happy about kahit minsan aminado silang they are in the right mood.
3. they have the best top 10 topics!!! you can check them out in chico garcia’s blog — strange fruit.
4. they have a cult of equally cool followers who give the best entries to the top ten with cool names – oscar dela hopia, joe de vengenge, gorgeous bitch to name a few…
5. they always remind listeners that no matter how bad the trafik is and how ill mannered others are on the road, never ever give in to road rage.
i first heard this song over the radio in the morning rush with chico and delamar. i know keane then to be the one who sang “isn’t it a wonder” – who’s concert got cancelled kasi he needs to go to rehab and alam nyo na mag-”detoxify”, hehehe… pero this song has something in it that touched me everytime i hear it. i listen to it whenever there is a chance.
this time it’s just perfect. not because i’m lost or troubled… well… siguro…
some people would even comment that this song is their anthem whenever they feel lost… well kumanta na tayo!
here’s the lyrics
(these words are more meaningful now…)
You say you wander your own land
But when I think about it
I don’t see how you can
You’re aching, you’re breaking
And I can see the pain in your eyes
Since everybody’s changing
And I don’t know why.
So little time
Try to understand that I’m
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody’s changing
And I don’t feel the same.
You’re gone from here
Soon you will disappear
Fading into beautiful light
’cause everybody’s changing
And I don’t feel right.
So little time
Try to understand that I’m
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody’s changing
And I don’t feel the same.
So little time
Try to understand that I’m
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody’s changing
And I don’t feel the same.
Ooo…
Everybody’s changing
And I don’t feel the same.
was driving to work sometime last week – thurs or wed ata (not sure) and listening to chico and delamar’s the morning rush on the radio (rx93.1). they happen to quickly discuss how they both like this movie. i do too. the title is from a poem by alexander pope – eloisa to abelard (sobrang haba ng poem na ito).
tungkol sya sa isang medical procedure available where people undergo in order to fully erase a memory they wanted to forget. the movie is written by charlie kauffman and is starring jim carrey (joel) and kate winslet (clementine) as the couple who undergo the procedure at different times when their relationship turns sour. nasa movie din as supporting cast sina elijah wood, kirsten dunst and mark ruffalo.
hindi ako fan ni jim carrey, but i was really impressed and touched by him in this movie. he was serious and hurting and desperate to get rid of his girlfriend’s memory but in the end na re-realize nya na he was just as desperate to keep it. along the process of erasing their memory, they bump in to each other several times sa memory reacall and end up remembering they do not want the memory removal done. the movie’s ending is them having the memory erased and then meeting again on the same train they met for the first time .
ang mga taglines ng movie sa posters and trailers are equally touching and would sting your attention :
i already forget how i used feel about you.
would you erase me?
do i know you?
you can erase someone from your mind. getting them out of your heart is another story.
clementine and joel
some really nice movie lines…
Clementine : This is it Joel. It’s gonna be gone soon.
Joel : I know.
Clementine : What do we do?
Joel : Enjoy it.
from the original poem :
how happy is the blameless vestal’s lot! the world forgetting, by the world forgot. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d…
