we had dinner at sydney cafe. i was really excited to have steak and i did! the cafe was equally chic… there was a really cool waiting area… too bad it was raining when we went to dinner. so the view was gloomy and gray…

the city down under... as in down there under the floor

on my first day in sydney was really sunny and i love that it is not humid at all even though the sun is burning. but that changed on my 3rd day — tuesday. it was raining ang the weaather was really gloomy… i missed my long walk along the bridge. i really asked my officemate to schedule it in the city somewhere near the famous sudney opera house and the harbour bridge.
we would passby the harbour bridge every day going to office and on the way back to the hotel.

the bridge
my photos heer could have been better if the sky was blue instead of gloomy gray….

oo... mahangin sa labas...
did you know that the ached roof of the opera house when connected together will form a sphere? i didn’t know that and i was really amazed to think so…
i like the buildings in sydney also… they are old style and with brick facade. i most specially like the queen victoria building and the strands… both are malls but doesn’t look like from the outside

queen victoria building

the strands
here are more nice buildings…

the grace... maybe a hotel

corner building

can't recall if this was along kent or sussex st.

it was my first time to fly this long… and sydney is the farthest i have been. the flight was overnight and i arrived in sydney at noon. i feel so filthy from the long flight, im bladder is bursting and my body aches. as in! soon as i landed, retrieved my luggage and passed through immigration, takbo na ko sa wash room, to reduce body liquid. binalak ko pa mag toothbrush but was too tamad to do so. so, i went out had my money changed for the local currency and met a lovely filipina who happens to be the bank cashier
the first impression i got during the ride from airport to hotel is that sydney is a lovely place… the buildings are a combination of both modern and old architecture (but i think mostly the old), and me being an old soul loved the old buildings more. soon as i arrive in the hotel, i ate and hit the shower.
a friend/co-league was too kind to show me around. he showed me around the city, the tourist destinations like the botanical garden and bondi beach. what i appreciated most is that he took me to different sydney residential neighborhoods where one can easily access the beach!
a few meters walk from the houses or wher you park your car, and surprise! this is what you see…

lovely small beach... yes, this is for free access
then we went to watson bay. we had some ice cream, i was amazed to see kids as young as 3 roam the streets in their swimming trunks with bare foot while their mom line up for ice cream with us. accross the street from the ice cream shop, we saw “the gap”, a cliff where two big bodies of water meet (not sure lang what – i think the sea and a river). he says the some peole jump from there and commit suicide… i said — but why?! he said — well, this is a nice place to die… hmmmm, true.

enjoying the view and the ice cream
here are other snapshots of my day 1 in sydney…
