i woke up early saturday morning, hoping i can still take my saturday routine jog at UP diliman… as it turned out it was raining and with disappointment i went back to bed. my officemates and i were suppose to go to an orphanage in makati to deliver donations from a foreigner friend and at the same time donate. my officemate and i spent thursday night buying supplies, books and food for the abandoned children… as the rain poured continuously reluctantly i had to call it off knowing rain water easily accumulates and turn into flood in our destination.
the next thing i know, flood found it’s way to our village — the pool has overflowed, the drains emit water instead of taking them in and some were being asked to transfer their cars parked along kaimito st.
i called our ancestral house — my sister is left at home as my brother-in-law had to go to greenhills and attend a seminar. she was in a panic, the street is submerged and is water level is getting higher and higher and quickly!
the wall in our backyard built when i was 5 or 6 years old saved us – it served as shield when water was trying its mightiest to get through our backyard.
our house is built 4.5ft above the ground saved us – we were one of the very few 
my brother-in-law’s trip to greenhills who took our family car saved us from further damage…
our plan to go to the orphanage saturday afternoon prevented me from leaving the house to go malling or to take long drives to rizal saved me from the possibility of being stranded…
my nephew’s baptism scheduled sunday morning prevented me and brother from taking our usual travel to rizal evert saturday afternoon saved us from being stranded…
God has continuously blessed us… somewhere out there our parents continue to guide and be our angels…
